Los Angeles Can’t Get Enough Of Hoody At Identity L.A. Review+Photos: Hoody @ Identity L.A. 2018
LOS ANGELES, CA- On May 7th, only five days before Identity LA took place, ISA TV (festival organizers) posted this onto their Instagram: “When we say stay tuned for special announcements…we mean it.” In the photo was surprise headliner Hoody of AOMG. Over 700 likes flooded the post as enthusiastic fans expressed their excitement.
Five days later, over 10,000 fans screamed as hosts, Far East Movement, introduced the next performance. Engulfed in red spotlight, South Korean R&B singer, Hoody stepped on stage with the melody of her first single under AOMG, “Like You” playing her welcoming intro. As AOMG’s only female vocalist, Hoody gets a lot of well deserved attention. Her voice and songs are sweet yet charming, which make for a captivating performance every time.
Although English is not her first language, Hoody made sure to express her appreciation by saying “I’m so happy to be here for the second time, and I hope to be here more” with a smile on her face. She also thanked and included the same message in Korean more comfortably as she started the next song “By Your Side.”
The fairly new singer, only having joined AOMG in 2015, ended her performance with her most recognized songs “HANGANG” and “Your Side” featuring Jay Park. To even Hoody’s surprise, the attendees seemed to have known every word to her songs. Delighted, she freely waved her arm left and right encouraging fans to do the same.
A final delicate vocal run on top of a equally delicate piano run, Hoody exited the stage. Her second performance in Los Angeles added a number fans onto her bandwagon, and those who knew of her also knew just who to expect next.
