Lushly cooing against densely textured production,  K.Flay’s “High Enough” is a hypnotic confession about the singer finding a new “drug”.

“There are so many songs out there about getting fucked up. I think a part of me was asking the question: ‘What if I’m already high enough? What if I don’t need anything but what I’ve got?’ There are many moments in my life—whether it’s because of a person or a place—that I don’t want to feel altered or high or buzzed. I just want to feel exactly what I’m feeling”.– K.Flay in a Radio.com interview.

Signed to Imagine Dragon’s frontman Dan Reynolds’ Interscope imprint label, Night Street Records, you can hear a little bit of that “Sail” influence in the driving beat and brooding bass-line, but K.Flay’s vocals and lyrics makes the listening experience wholly her own. It’s almost got a little bit of a Portishead vibe if Portishead were jacked up on caffeine.

“High Enough” is the second single from K.Flay’s forthcoming release , which should be a banger of an album as she’s arranged for contributions from heavy hitters likes Mike Elizondo (Fiona Apple, Regina Spektor, Skylar Grey, Tegan and Sara) and Tommy English (BØRNS, Against the Current, Ladyhawke); producers who have significant experience producing female vocalists with a such distinct sound.

K.Flay’s sophomore album “Every Where Is Some Where” is set to be released on April 7th, 2017, and can be pre-ordered HERE.
