setlist-image-v1RECAP: Back in my college days, Jimmy Buffett’s music was synonymous with smoking a joint and popping the top off a cold one. I have vivid memories of my southern fraternity brothers playing “Margaritaville” and “Cheeseburger In Paradise” during carelessly contested beer pong games. At the end of the day, it didn’t really matter who won the match as long as everyone had a nice buzz going.

There’s something about the easygoing nature of Jimmy Buffett’s music that translated well with easy living and good times. Though his music never really spoke to me on a personal level, I could appreciate it for what it was. It was music that served as a soundtrack for carefree, good times.

Jimmy’s “Parrotheads” were clearly having a good time during the performance. I noticed groups of friends with their arms wrapped over each other’s shoulders, swaying and swinging to the all-too familiar melodies being sung by Mr. Buffett. One two separate occasions, I noticed friends accidentally spilling their beers on a friend amidst the swaying singalong. At the end of the day, however it didn’t really matter if beer was spilt, as long as everyone was having a good time.
