HOLLYWOOD, CA- Recently on tour opening for Wafia was the Upscale Music Group/Interscope Records recording artist Jaira Burns. I originally took note of this recording artist when I noticed that a photography peer of mine was posting some gorgeous photos of her while on tour, most notably the cover photo for Jaira’s most recent (and third) single, “High Rollin”.
“High Rollin” is a catchy little banger, but when I went online to find some more music, I found her song “Burn Slow”… and damn… all I could think was that that song was a hit. With a stronger moving bass-line, that track could have easily been a Rihanna cut.
For her opening set, Jaira gave the audience a very well rounded performance which exhibited the many facets of her talent. When she wasn’t dancing and singing on stage with confidence to backing tracks of her dance/club numbers, she slowed things down and crooned a pair of songs with an acoustic guitar. She exuded such a charming quality, it was easy to pay attention to her.
At only 20 years old (I think), there’s a very bright future for this one. As it is with any other recording artist, it’s all about the music, but Jaira seems to have all of the other tools to really make a go at career in music. I, for one, am eager to hear what new songs she’ll release this year and to see how she develops as an artist.
