LOS ANGELES, CA- Dove Cameron has come a long way from her Disney Channel Liv and Maddie days (playing a dual role as the eponymous characters for which she won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Performer in Children’s Programming). While she has been further honing her singing chops on the Descendent film series, her latest single, “Remember Me”,  really reveals a more musically mature side of her talent.

With a production assist from The Futuristics (Camila Cabello, Halsey, and Bebe Rexha), “Remember Me” masterfully balances both dark and hopeful tones, using various types of musical elements. The introductory piano arrangement, which is a constant theme throughout the recording, gives the song an Alanis Morrissette “Uninvited” vibe, but her pristine vocals sing lighthearted thoughts of her love. You can also get a hint of new wave with the Depeche Mode-like synth flourishes during this conclusion of the choruses of “just like this’.

In speaking about the track, Dove says:

“I’m so excited for my new single “Remember Me” to finally be released! I’ve been waiting for what feels like years to finally have this track and this new sound be out in the world and available to my fans, and I can’t believe that day is today! I also couldn’t be happier to be working with an artist like BIA, I’m such a fan and the tone and energy she brought to the track is magic.”

BIA gets a standard 8 bar side artist feature, but her clear concise lyrics give the song that added “something”  and also adds yet another musical element to this truly unique arrangement, hip hop.
