On June 3, 2016, Classixx released their sophomore album; the very adventurous “Faraway Reach”. Known for producing tracks that are heavy on the groove, Classixx has taken it a step further with “Faraway Reach”, incorporating and bending genres beyond the techno-disco vibes from their debut album.

The new album is still chock full of catchy hooks and a plethora of guest artists (De Lux, Passion Pit, Alex Frankel, How To Dress Well and T-Pain just to name a fews), and Michael David and Tyler Blake delve into 90s house music, R&B grooves and modern pop, showing an evolution to musical stylings, while still maintaining the infectious dance grooves that they are known for.

They were the first act on this day’s Sound In Focus concert. While their live show benefits from intricate lighting displays and an LCD presentation of graphics and visuals of those guest artists who couldn’t join them on stage, the band admirably pulled off a midday set, under the bright, summer sun.

While most of the crowd was settled on the grass picnicking or mingling in the beer garden imbibing on a frosty beverage during their performance, there were pockets of loyal Classixx fans dancing with a reckless abandon typically reserved for dark corners of a club in Hollywood.

Though their set was a relatively short 45 minutes, it was a performance that whet the concert-goers appetites for the music to come. They even brought up De Lux’s Sean Guerin to join them in the performance of “In These Fine Times”.
