Sometimes seeing a young singer perform live early on is like looking in to a crystal ball, and all of a sudden it becomes clear just what kind of artist someone is, and what lies ahead for them. This is what happened at the Troubadour on 3/18/17, when 22 year old Chandler Juliet took the stage with her band.

Used with permission.Juliet has been collaborating with Colbie Caillat/Augustana producer Mikal Blue, as well as Dean Dinning of the band Toad the Wet Sprocket, and Tim Myers (One Republic)- and it showed. Taking the stage backed by a confident 3 piece band, she launched into “Right for Me”, from her 2015 EP “Loud Heart”. Juliet owned the moment as she made it clear that she didn’t need the crowd to like her- she was going to decide if she liked them.

The anthem “Tribe of One” had the crowd singing along instantly with its chorus chant of “We won’t be silent”. During another one of her new songs, “First Move”, Juliet prowled the stage confidently, singling out a gentleman in the crowd for a Chandler Juliet at theTroubadour 3/18/17. She brought things down nicely with another new tune “Lonely”, which she performed with only the barest backing by guitarist Jake Williams. Ending her set on a high note, Chandler unleashed her upcoming single “Speechless”, a grinding tease with a four on the floor beat that had the sold out crowd shouting for more.

Chandler Juliet’s Troubadour set had the confidence of any opener or festival set I have seen in recent years. If the dots continue to connect for her as they currently have been, you will be seeing a lot more of her, doing her own sets at festivals and opening national tours. Clearly, she’s ready to go all the way.

As a side note, apparently, others have seen the talent that Chandler possesses as she was recently the recipient of Indie Music Channel’s “Best Pop Recording” award for her record “Speechless”.  Yup … I think it’s time we all start paying some attention to Ms. Juliet.
