Where do I even begin for this brilliantly orchestrated event? Right from the get go, I knew this event was going to be one that would blow the roof off of Club Bahia for the 23rd day of Red Bull Sound Select’s “30 Days In LA” concert series.

First of all, the lineup was a complete secret. This made for an already exciting feeling. People waiting in line outside were anxious and ready to see who was going to hit the stage and give them a great show. As a reward for those fans willing to arrive early for the event, Red Bull gave the first 50 people in line HUSH Earplugs and, fittingly, free brownies.

Brownies and Lemonade has it’s roots in the talented, yet unheralded, artists of Soundcloud. Created and curated by a guy nicknamed “Kush”, Brownies and Lemonades gives Soundcloud artists who have developed their own buzz an opportunity to play their music in a live, hyped setting. The crowds at Brownies and Lemonade knows what kind talent that Brownies and Lemonades finds so you can assume that they are a dedicated crowd of music heads who know a thing or two about the music being played.

From beginning to end Brownies & Lemonade was a straight up party. If you had the chance to attend this event, you were guaranteed to be turnt up if the music was not something you were very familiar with. Throughout the whole event, you could see sweaty people dancing like their lives depended on it, waiting for those beats to drop so they can really get into the electronic stylings of the Dj’s. Simply put, the atmosphere and vibe in Club Bahia was just crazy!

The set of the stage also made for a great show. Insofar as this was not a traditional concert setup, there really wasn’t any boundaries between the stage and audience. This allowed the performers to get up close and personal and really connect with the party goers. A girl even went on stage and became each sets personal hype man. It was a non-stop barrage of beats that featured performance by Alison Wonderland, GTA, Falcons, KRNE, Alexander Lewis, Oshi, Cavalier, AObeats …. hold on, lemme catch my breath …. Robokid and B&L All Stars.

Each DJ was brought on stage in an unconventional way that I had never seen before. Instead of one DJ on stage, there would be 2 Dj’s on stage at one time performing back to back so there there was never a break in the music. You know this event was the business because it even made the Huffington post! So if you missed out, you know should probably give Brownies and Lemonade a follow so that you don’t miss out again.
