While we’re still waiting for that rumored solo album, Andr é 3000 has at least made his voice heard on “Solo (Reprise),” from Frank Ocean’s Blonde. While it was rumored that his verse was an attack onDrake in light of the Meek Mill feud, it turns out that based on the timeline, that can’t be the case.
CeeLo Green, a longtime friend and former collaborator, was a guest on Sway In The Morning this morning and he said that Andr é actually recorded the verse two years ago, long before the Drake/Meek feud began. The verse, by the way, goes:
“After 20 years in, I’m so naive / I was under the impression / That everyone wrote they own verses / It’s comin’ back different and, yeah, that shit hurts me.”
