TEMPE, AZ- From the get-go, twin-brother outfit Alien Atmosphere takes you to another realm with their new single, “Sail Away.” From the lofty vocals from Nick Kwilosz to the syncopated anticipation that twin brother Matt builds on the drums, the song brings to mind an, if you will, atmospheric presence a la Coldplay and OneRepublic.

This reviewer also found some hidden inspiration from mid-aughts alt-rock bands, including the similarly space-agey Angels and Airwaves. The similar peppering of guitars throughout the verses (and ultimately leading to a more smooth chorus) especially brings to mind an out-of-this-world feel that both bands elicit, but Alien Atmosphere grounds itself in its flowing vocals, soaring lightly but powerfully over the melody.

The Arizona-based Kwilosz twins are no strangers to music, having learned their trade from their blues-country musician grandfather Lloyd Conger. The band has been around since 2012 and have performed alongside Awolnation, Jimmy Eat World, and Neon Trees, to name a few.

With a single as promising as this one, Alien Atmosphere may have the potential to rise to the stratospheric level that their name assures them to be.
