LOS ANGELES, CA- Ok … so if you’ve been keeping an eye on my personal contributions to Blurred Culture, you’ve probably noticed that I’m a big fan of the one … the only … Lauren Ruth Ward. On Thursday December 6th, Lauren will be headlining the revered Los Angeles concert venue The El Rey.

Now, if you are interested in attending what is going to be an amazing show, there are a handful of tickets that are still available that you can purchase by CLICKING HERE. But if you are hedging for some god forsaken reason, here are five reasons why you should suck it up and go.

1. Her Rock And Roll Spirit Will Remind You Of The Greats.

There aren’t many recording artists that can authentically channel the spirit of classic rock goddesses like Lauren and publications have compared her to greats Janis Joplin and Grace Slick (and if you haven’t heard her kick-ass cover of Jefferson Airplane’s “White Rabbit”, I suggest that you have a listen before you cast your own judgment). If you love classic rock, I guarantee you’ll love Lauren Ruth Ward.

2. Her Music Kicks Ass.

If you haven’t listened to her debut album “Well, Hell” … well, why the hell not? Each song on that album is lyrically poetic and melodically irresistible. With the help of her co-writing partner Eddie Rivera, each song has licks and lyrics that are bound to have you humming or singing along in no time. Musically speaking, I’m especially fond of the build up to the first chorus in “Make Love To Myself”, the shredding guitar licks in “Blue Collar Sex Kitten” and the use of breath in “Did I Offend You?” to name a few unforgettable moments. If you haven’t listened to her album yet … do it. Do it now.

3.  She’s Got More Charisma On Stage Than You Can Handle

Lauren can entertain you without even singing a note. Having performed non-stop throughout the year, she’s perfected the art of stage presence. I’ve seen her perform on almost every type of stage. From small intimate venues, to huge festival settings, Lauren can light up stage in a matter of seconds with a simple flip of her rainbow colored hair. Once she starts dancing around the stage and reaching out to the audience, I guarantee you’ll be captivated by her aura.

4. There Are Bound To Be Surprises

For her headlining performance at The Troubadour, Lauren entertained her fans with a light show, an ASL interpreter, a dancer and a few unexpected covers. The Troubadour has a capacity of 400. The El Rey is twice the size. Twice the size, twice the surprises? I wouldn’t bet against it.

5. You. Will. Feel. Loved.

Not only will Lauren shower you with her affection through song, but I guarantee that you’ll feel that love throughout the venue from all of her fans.

I remember when there was a mix-up with regards to my ticket for a certain show that I had been photo accredited for. When I arrived at the venue, the box office indicated that I was approved to bring a camera into the venue, but that I wasn’t actually on the list for a ticket and that the show had sold out.  Before I had a chance to sigh and try to state my case, a fan graciously offered me an extra ticket that she had for the show. When I offered to pay for the ticket she refused and simply insisted that we all had a good time. Well, I did, as I stood next to her the entire show.

If that ain’t love, I don’t know what it.

Follow Lauren Ruth Ward on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and buy a ticket to her show.
